With one simple click on a button your child opens the Glubble library where all the Glubbles you have approved are collected. Each Glubble is uniquely identified with a picture which your child will find easy to remember. Selecting a Glubble will open the links to featured web sites that are all thumbnailed to help your child to choose the web site of their choice.
Coloring pages, games, dress-up dolls, cartoons, language exercises, audio books reference for school papers and tons of other cool and safe content has been carefully selected for your children to discover and play with by our in-house editorial team. This free content is archived in the Glubble library and is accessible for children easily by clicking any of the thumbnails.
The star button right next to the web address bar allows your child to easily bookmark a site as a favorite. All they have to do is press the star button and the page they are looking at gets added to their favorite thumbnail bar.
We've made the child browser bar much thinner so children can see as much of the web page possible without scrolling. When your child uses Firefox now with their Userbar tab it will automatically operate in full-screen mode, which means that they can see as much screen area as your monitor will permit. Take a look, we hope your child likes it.
In our experience most children want to be a bigger children and grow into trusted independence by experiencing the act of discovery for themselves. The search engine augmentation feature enables them to use world famous search engines like Google on their own while you remain safe in the knowledge that they can only find things that they are allowed to see!
Whenever your child hits a link or submits an URL to a web site or page within a web site that you did not approve Glubble blocks the request and opens a message panel for your child to ask for approval or to return to their homepage. Your child can even add a message to you (or any other helper in their group) whenever they request the ability to see a new website. They can clearly select who they want to ask by clicking on a helper's name.
If your child asks you for permission to see a new web site (that is not already included in their Glubbles collection) then you'll see a new message appear in your Firefox browser while online - even when you're at the office or logged into another network - you can reply right away or decide to reply later. You will even see an event history of every request from your child on your homepage along with a history for each response made by each of your child's helpers.
Glubbles are hand-picked compilations of web content... The Glubble library is your resource to browse through and select great content for your child to discover online. We have collected hundreds of links for you to choose from based on what we thought is normal, decent, fun and educational content for children. On top of this you can add your own content into new Glubbles and share them with your family friends.
Each Glubble can be activated for all your children or for an individual child. Within each Glubble you can set if they are allowed to visit each web site that is compiled or you may decide to leave some of the content out and make each Glubble personal to an individual child or group of children.
The homepage is the only page that can update live from the web while Firefox is locked, and it's trusted from Glubble for you. It serves you with information such as: Who has installed new Glubbles; Who has added links or sent messages within your family circle. We think you'll find it really useful.
Your personal homepage has a great free short messaging facility. With it you can send messages to your children and other family helpers. Even better, the message facility is private to your family and friends, even your children can send you messages in complete safety. Think of it as your private family message board.
When Firefox starts you'll see a brand new concept called the Userbar, in which you and your family members all have your own user-tab.
All you have to do is click on your tab and you'll have your own personalized multi-user copy of Firefox running! This means that your browsing history is kept separate from your Children. The real great thing is that children do not need passwords, they click on their tab and they are good to go with their own browser interface.
It's real easy to set Glubble up on multiple computers too. All you have to do is sign into any Firefox browser with Glubble installed and you can use your existing Glubble account to add user-tabs for other members in your Glubble group.
Userbar tabs in Glubble provide a super easy way for your children and you to both enjoy surfing the web with the same copy of Firefox.
When Firefox is locked your Children simply click on their user-tab (they can even have their picture on it!) and hey-presto, Firefox changes into their version, no password required at all, only helpers (teenagers and adults) need passwords to prevent children accidentally clicking on the wrong tab and using Firefox in unrestricted mode.
After much research I came across this GREAT firefox extension called Glubble. At the time I liked the idea, but it was still in beta and was difficult to navigate... well, today they released a new version and it is AWESOME!

"I almost purchased the Fisher Price Easy Link Launchpad for my kids but I wasn't anxious to have yet another toy piled on top of my laptop, desktop, printer, and drawing software. Glubble has been a much better option for so many reasons. (Did I mention that it is free too)?"
